This is an enlightening and humbling infographic I found through ONE Moms, an organization that works to promote awareness of “extreme poverty and preventable disease.”
Marton Markovits, my African Politics professor at Ohio University (now back to teaching at U. Penn), started our class by asking us: “What is Africa?”
It’s a question that I’ve often pondered and this infographic presents a good starting point. Geographic scale is important to keep in mind when thinking about Africa.
